Once your establishment is registered with ESIC, the work continues every month. Contributions must be calculated for each covered employee, filed on the ESIC portal and paid on time. Monthly contributions are generally due by the 15th of the following month. Employee details also need updating as people join, leave or cross the wage limit. Errors or delays can lead to interest, damages and gaps in your employees' benefits.

Vibence takes this routine off your plate. Qualified professionals from the Vibence partner network calculate contributions from your payroll data, file the monthly contribution details, generate the challan for payment and keep employee records current. They also help you respond to notices and prepare records for inspections. You stay focused on your business while your ESIC compliance keeps pace with your payroll.

ESIC Monthly Contribution and Return Filing: FAQs

What is the due date for ESIC contributions?

ESIC contributions for a month are generally due by the 15th of the following month. The contribution details are filed and payment is made online through the ESIC portal. Paying after the due date can attract interest and damages, so it helps to share payroll data early in the month.

Do employers still file half-yearly ESIC returns?

Contribution details are now filed monthly on the ESIC portal, and this monthly filing has largely replaced the separate half-yearly return that employers filed in the past. Employers should still maintain registers and records as required. We follow the current ESIC procedure and keep your records organised.

What happens if ESIC contributions are paid late?

Late payment generally attracts simple interest for each day of delay and may also lead to damages being levied. Persistent default can result in recovery action and prosecution under the ESI law. Delays can also affect employees' access to benefits. Filing on time every month avoids these problems.

How are contributions calculated?

Contributions are calculated as a percentage of each covered employee's wages for the month. Currently, the employer contributes 3.25 percent and the employee 0.75 percent, with employees below a specified daily wage exempt from their share. Wages include most regular payments, so the payroll breakdown matters. We calculate amounts from your payroll data.

Can you help with past months that were not filed?

Yes. We can review your records, work out the contributions for missed months and help you file and pay them, along with any interest that applies. Bringing filings up to date early reduces the risk of larger penalties. We will explain the likely amounts before you pay.
