Disputes are part of doing business. A customer refuses to pay, a vendor fails to deliver, a partner breaks an agreement or a landlord disputes a lease. When negotiation and notices do not resolve the matter, you may need to go to court or arbitration. Finding an advocate with the right experience, in the right city and at a fee you understand, can take time when you are already under pressure.

Vibence helps businesses connect with independent advocates from our partner network for civil and commercial matters. You share your facts and documents, and we match you with an advocate who handles disputes of that kind. The advocate assesses the case, quotes for the work and represents you. Vibence is not a law firm and does not give legal opinions itself. Litigation is uncertain, and no outcome is guaranteed.

Litigation Support: FAQs

Is Vibence a law firm?

No. Vibence is not a law firm and does not give legal opinions itself. Legal services listed on this page are provided by independent advocates in the Vibence partner network. Vibence helps you find a suitable advocate, coordinates documents and keeps you updated. Advice and representation come from the advocate. No outcome in any legal matter is guaranteed.

What kinds of disputes does litigation support cover?

Litigation support covers civil and commercial matters such as recovery of money, breach of contract, partnership and shareholder disputes, property and lease disputes, commercial suits and arbitration. Specialised matters such as tax, employment or criminal cases may need advocates with specific experience, and Vibence will try to match you accordingly where a suitable partner is available.

How are the advocate's fees decided?

Fees are set by the advocate based on the nature of the case, the forum, the expected number of hearings and the work involved. The advocate will share a quote after reviewing your facts and documents, before you commit. Court fees, documentation costs and travel, where relevant, are usually additional. Ask the advocate to explain what the quote covers.

Should I try mediation or arbitration before going to court?

Often it is worth considering. Many commercial contracts contain an arbitration clause that requires disputes to go to arbitration. For certain commercial suits, the law also requires an attempt at pre-institution mediation before filing, unless urgent relief is sought. Mediation and arbitration can be quicker and more private than court. Your advocate can advise which route fits.

Can I change my advocate during a case?

Yes. A client can change their advocate at any stage of a case. The outgoing advocate usually gives a no-objection and hands over the file, and the new advocate files a fresh appearance. Settle any outstanding fees and collect all documents to make the handover smooth. Vibence can help you find another advocate in the partner network.
