Accounting & Payroll: common questions
What is included in outsourced accounting?
Outsourced accounting covers recording your transactions, reconciling bank and card accounts, managing payables and receivables, running payroll calculations and preparing statutory returns such as GST and TDS. You also receive regular financial statements. Higher plans add services like inventory reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting and advisory calls with a senior finance professional.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping is the recording and organising of financial transactions, such as sales, purchases and payments. Accounting builds on those records to prepare financial statements, analyse results, file tax returns and advise on decisions. Good bookkeeping is the base that makes accurate accounting possible. Our accounting plans include bookkeeping along with filings and reporting.
When is EPF registration mandatory?
EPF registration is mandatory for establishments covered under the EPF law that employ 20 or more people. Once covered, the establishment generally remains covered even if the headcount later falls below 20. Establishments with fewer employees can register voluntarily with the agreement of the employer and the majority of employees.
Who needs to register under ESIC?
Establishments covered by the ESI law that employ 10 or more people in areas where the scheme has been notified must register with ESIC. This includes many factories, shops, hotels, restaurants and service establishments, depending on state notifications. Once covered, an establishment generally stays covered even if headcount falls later.
