GST registration gives your business a 15-digit GSTIN. It lets you collect GST from customers, claim input tax credit on purchases and sell across state lines or on online marketplaces. Registration is mandatory once your turnover crosses the threshold that applies to you, and for certain businesses from day one, such as interstate suppliers of goods and e-commerce sellers. Many smaller businesses also register voluntarily because larger clients prefer to work with GST-registered vendors.
Vibence makes the process simple. Qualified professionals from the Vibence partner network check your eligibility, help you pick the right registration type and prepare the application in Form GST REG-01. They handle Aadhaar authentication steps, respond to any clarification the officer raises and share your registration certificate once it is approved. If you choose a plan with return filing, the same professional continues to manage your monthly compliance.

GST Registration: FAQs
Who needs to register under GST?
Registration is required when your aggregate turnover crosses the threshold that applies to you. For most states this is ₹40 lakh for suppliers of goods and ₹20 lakh for service providers, with lower limits in some special category states. Certain businesses must register regardless of turnover, including interstate suppliers of goods, e-commerce sellers, casual taxable persons and those liable under reverse charge.
What documents are needed for GST registration?
You generally need the PAN and Aadhaar of the business owners, photographs, proof of business address, a rent agreement or consent letter if the premises are not owned, and bank account details. Companies, LLPs and partnerships also need their incorporation certificate, LLP agreement or partnership deed, along with an authorisation for the signatory who will manage the GST account.
How long does it take to get a GSTIN?
Where Aadhaar authentication is completed and the documents are in order, a GSTIN is often issued within a few working days of filing. If the officer raises a clarification or the application is selected for physical verification of the premises, it can take longer. Vibence tracks the application and responds to queries so that delays are kept to a minimum.
Is there a government fee for GST registration?
No. The GST portal does not charge any government fee to apply for registration. You only pay the professional fee for the plan you choose, plus GST on that fee. Plans that include return filing and consultation cover those services for the stated number of months from the date your registration is approved.
What happens after I receive my GST registration?
Once registered, you must issue GST-compliant invoices, display your GSTIN at your place of business and file GST returns on time, even for months with no business. Most regular taxpayers file GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B every month or quarter and an annual return where applicable. Missing returns can attract late fees and interest and may eventually lead to cancellation of the registration.
